Measure everything in millimeters
Use a tape measure or caliper. Closest approximation: 298 is better than 300.

Base = width from left to right
Measure the long side of the grill, edge to edge, placing it on the hob.

Height = depth from front to back
Measure the short side: the depth of the grill, from front edge to back edge.

Type = number of fires covered
A 1-burner grill covers only one burner; 4 burners covers the entire floor. "Central" and "fish" are special forms.
